A Brief History of Charismatic Cars – our Wedding Cars
Charismatic Cars was founded in 1982 when a friend suggested that, as he was going to do weddings with his own cars, why didn’t I join him with my two 1920s Alvis that I had at the time. After a year he pulled out and we carried on as the business was doing well. Over the years we have re-invested any profits into more cars, peaking at 12 and we currently have 7. Our aim has always been to provide the best possible personal service to our clients and we have many complimentary messages to tell us that is what we have achieved. There are very few companies that can offer the range of vehicles and years of experience to make your day memorable.
What makes us different?
- We have been doing this a really long time – heading towards 40 years. We have dealt with almost every imaginable type of wedding – we are confident that we can accommodate nearly all requests.
- We own all our cars – there are a lot of wedding car hire business that simply borrow cars from collectors. Generally collectors love their cars – however, the borrower is relying on two keys things – (1) the cars is being correctly maintained to a high standard and (2) the collector won’t need to sell the car before your wedding date.
- We are a small family business – we really care about what we do. This isn’t something we do as a little side line it is our main and only business.
- Our cars are “real” – this may sound odd but there are a surprising number of “fake” classic cars out there – the “fakes” are usually something like a Ford Mondeo with a different body and interior. Basically it a Mondeo in fancy dress – we think it’s better to have a real Rolls-Royce rather than a Ford dressed up as a Rolls-Royce. Incidentally I am not suggesting that those who hired these cars out are trying to dupe anyone!
